2008-2009 Carolina Select Soccer Club Tryouts & Evaluations

Tryouts will be held May 19-23 at the Palisades

Carolina Select Soccer Club and Charlotte United Futbol Club Palisades will be holding joint tryouts and evaluations for the upcoming 2008-2009 season.  Dates, times and locations are below by age group.

Fees:  Tryout fees are $20 per family when registering online.  Walkup registration will cost $40 per person (to be consistent with CUFC).  We accept Visa, Mastercard, & Checks when registering online.  You can register online and pay in cash when you get to tryouts too; just choose the "Pay by Check" option during registration.  This fee covers the cost of a tryout t-shirt, coaches and administrative expenses. 

Tryout Arrival Time: If you register online, please arrive no later than 15 minutes prior to tryout starting time.  All walkup registrations should arrive at least 30 minutes prior to tryout start time.  We will have laptops available onsite so you can register online when you get there.  We do ask that you pre-register if at all possible to speed up the process. 

Note: If you have already registered online for tryouts through the Carolina Select registration system, you do not need to re-register for the Charlotte United tryout on their website. 

What to bring: Please wear cleats & shin guards, bring water and a ball if you have one.  Shin guards are required for all group activities!

Age Group:  Players should tryout for their current age group.  Click here for the 2008-2009 age chart to determine which team they should tryout with.  Or see below:

U10 = born between 8/1/98 and 7/31/99
U11 = born between 8/1/97 and 7/31/98
U12 = born between 8/1/96 and 7/31/97
U13 = born between 8/1/95 and 7/31/96
U14 = born between 8/1/94 and 7/31/95
U15 = born between 8/1/93 and 7/31/94
U16 = born between 8/1/92 and 7/31/93
U17 = born between 8/1/91 and 7/31/92
U18 = born between 8/1/90 and 7/31/91

Schedule: Please see the complete schedule below.  Note that there are two tryout/eval dates for each age group.  Players are strongly encouraged to attend both, but are only required to attend one.  You only need to pay the fee one time, however.

Team Placement: Players will be notified of their team placement as soon as possible after tryouts.  Commitment meetings will be held on May 31st for all teams playing in NC.  Click here for details.  For all teams playing in SC, there will be a commitment meeting at Springfield Elementary School, June 1st at 2:00pm.

Directions to The Palisades:

Description

From I-77 North exit at Carowinds Blvd. Take left and follow Carowinds Blvd until it intersects with Hwy 49 S. Tryon Street. Take a left at the light. Follow Hwy 49 through 4 stoplights. You will have past Steele Creek Road and the new shopping center that includes Target and Best Buy. Less than a mile after 4th light you will need to be in the left hand lane. The entrance to the Palisades is on the left. There is a waterfall sign. Turn left into the Palisades. You will stay straight on Grand Palisades Parkway for about a mile. The entrance to the fields is on the left.

• SC Medical Release Form - all players living in either NC or SC need to complete
• NC Medical Release Form - all players living in NC need to complete
• Interstate Transfer Form - all players living in NC need to complete
• Volunteer Disclosure Form - all volunteers (coaches, team managers, board members, etc) need to complete this form
